How to use

- Set your speed. 130 words per minute matches an average speaking pace. If you read faster than the scroll, nudge it up; if you're racing to keep up, bring it down.

- Mirror mode: only enable this if you're reading through actual teleprompter hardware (a beam-splitter glass in front of your camera). For reading off a laptop or tablet next to the camera, leave it off.
Tips for natural delivery
- Write the way you talk — contractions, short sentences, and conversational phrasing read naturally; formal writing sounds robotic on camera.
- Mark your pauses. A line break or [pause] in the script reminds you to breathe, which is what separates "reading" from "presenting."
- Do a practice run at your set speed before recording. Adjust the WPM until the scroll feels slightly slower than comfortable — nerves speed you up on camera.
- Place your screen as close to the lens as possible. The further your eyes travel from the lens, the more obvious the reading becomes.

What is mirror mode for?
Real teleprompter rigs use a beam-splitter glass in front of the camera lens that reflects a screen — the reflected image is reversed, so the text must be mirrored to read correctly. If you're just reading off a laptop, tablet, or phone near your camera, leave mirror mode off.
